yDirect

Terms of Service

Effective and last updated: August 9, 2026

These Terms govern your use of the yDirect Chrome extension, hosted account pages, cloud backup, workspace sharing, and related services (the "Service"). They are an agreement between you and Abhay Yemekar, an independent developer in Maharashtra, India ("yDirect," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 and legally able to agree to these Terms. If local law requires a higher age, a parent or guardian must authorize your use. Give accurate account information, keep access to your email account secure, and promptly notify support@ydirect.tech if you believe your account is compromised. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless prohibited by law.

License to use yDirect

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Service for lawful personal or internal business purposes. The Service, brand, interface, first-party software, and documentation remain owned by Abhay Yemekar. Third-party components remain subject to their respective licenses.

Your content

You retain your rights in content you enter into yDirect. You give us and our service providers a limited license to host, copy, transmit, format, back up, and otherwise process that content only as needed to operate, secure, and support the Service. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to store and share the content.

Workspace sharing makes selected content and related identity/activity information available to authorized users. Workspace owners and managers control content and access within their permissions. Review recipients carefully before sharing. Leaving a workspace removes your future access but does not necessarily remove lawful copies already exported by another authorized user.

Acceptable use

You must not use the Service to violate law or another person's rights; distribute malware or harmful code; facilitate fraud, phishing, spam, harassment, or unauthorized surveillance; attempt to bypass authentication, access controls, rate limits, or service restrictions; probe or disrupt the Service; impersonate others; or upload content you are not entitled to use. Do not use yDirect as a credential vault or to store payment-card data, recovery codes, private keys, regulated health data, government identifiers, or other secrets requiring a purpose-built security system.

Backups and data loss

You are responsible for maintaining exports of content you cannot afford to lose. Cloud backup is a convenience feature, not an archival or disaster-recovery guarantee. It keeps the latest successful backup and the immediately preceding recovery point. Verify downloaded backups before deleting local data, uninstalling the extension, changing accounts, or deleting your account.

Fees and refunds

This release does not offer paid subscriptions or process payments. If we introduce a paid feature, its price, billing period, cancellation terms, and any applicable refund policy will be presented before purchase. No payment obligation will arise merely from using this release.

Third-party services

The Service depends on Chrome, Google OAuth, Firebase/Google Cloud, and Resend. Their separate terms may apply to your use of their products. We do not control those services and are not responsible for outages or changes outside our reasonable control.

Changes, suspension, and termination

We may change the Service to improve security, comply with law, or maintain functionality. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address security, abuse, legal risk, or a material breach of these Terms. You may stop using yDirect at any time and may delete local data or delete your account through settings. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, and liability limitations—will survive.

Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, and error-free operation. We do not warrant that a backup, sync, import, export, or shared workspace will prevent every loss or unauthorized disclosure. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, yDirect and Abhay Yemekar will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or business interruption arising from the Service. Because this release is free, our total liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed US$50 or the minimum greater amount required by applicable law. These limits do not apply where liability cannot legally be limited.

Disputes and local law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to mandatory consumer-protection rules and any jurisdiction that cannot lawfully be excluded, courts with jurisdiction in Maharashtra, India will hear disputes. Before filing a formal claim, contact support@ydirect.tech and allow 30 days for an informal resolution, unless waiting would prejudice a legal right.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will revise the date above and provide additional notice when required. Continued use after an update becomes effective constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law; otherwise, stop using the Service and delete your account.
